Since we did a well-received poll on who fans want to see join the roster in Street Fighter 6’s fourth season, it felt only right to do the same for Tekken 8 which will have its third season coming up even sooner.
With the Tekken World Tour Finals set to in my own home country of Sweden at the end of January, we’re almost certain to see something revealed there for the next season. But who are you hoping to see?
For the poll, I had to make a few decisions on certain entries. For example, since King II and Armor King II have completely replaced their predecessors and retain their moveset and personality, I opted not to include the first iterations of either character (it also doesn’t help that both of them are canonically dead in the series).
Certain other characters which have been separated in the Tekken Tag Tournament games, such as Michelle Chang from Julia Chang and Forest Law from Marshall Law made me include them separately for the poll.
Violet was a tougher decision since he’s been part of the series both as a separate fighter and as an alternate costume, but since he currently isn’t present as a named fighter in Tekken 8 he’s included in the poll as well, despite essentially just being an alternate costume for Lee Chaolan.
Although no guest character has ever returned in the franchise thus far, despite having them present in the series since way back in Tekken 3 when Gon was part of the roster, I still included them as separate fighters to gauge if fans are interested in seeing any specific fighter return as a guest.
Finally, I chose to separate potential newcomers into different categories, one for brand new Tekken characters that we haven’t seen before, one for existing Tekken character who simply haven’t been playable yet (though honestly there aren’t many).
When it comes to guest characters, they also received two separate categories — one for guest characters from franchises that have already been part of Tekken (Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, Final Fantasy and The Walking Dead… also I suppose Gon is its own franchise) and a separate one for guest characters from something that hasn’t been in Tekken yet (such as a long-requested Yakuza guest character, though that one seems unlikely).
Also, much like the Street Fighter poll, this one will be based on producing a full season — that is to say, voting for four characters to make out a full Season 3.
Now, with all that out of the way, get to voting and make your voice heard. You never know, the developers just may be paying attention. Katsuhiro Harada himself is very keen on statistics after all.

Although I am a hardcore Lili loyalist, I do have characters I’d like to see join Tekken 8 either to play as sub characters on occasion or simply because I like having them in the game. My personal votes went to Ancient Ogre, Miguel, Eliza and Lei. What about your votes? Let us know in the comments.
