Just a reminder from my last post, I'm encouraging people to boot up Black Ops Cold War and play Fireteam: Dirty Bomb every Saturday at 5pm EST. This outstanding mode never got the respect it deserved, so I'm here to help it so old players can get to enjoy it again, and new players can get to see what it's like. I believe that most of this community never gave this mode enough of a chance, because the gameplay could be quite hectic which would make more casual players not want to play it again. For those who'd like to join, something about this mode needs to be addressed
Because this mode is so rare, which is why I'm here every week promoting it, when you begin to matchmake, it's going to need some time. A lobby will not form in just a few minutes like you'd expect. Some patience is required, and we only need 32-40 people to be matchmaking at the same time (within matchmaking ping distance) for a lobby to form. Click Fireteam > Fireteam Moshpit, let the game matchmake, and play something else while you wait. Go on YouTube, whatever. Just give the game some time to matchmake. If it says "Failed to host lobby", that means not enough people were matchmaking at the same time and we need to try again
That sounds annoying, and it is. However, this annoyance wouldn't exist if enough people joined this event. Again, If we got 32-40 people matchmaking at the same time, a lobby will form immediately and there will be no annoying wait
If we all were to matchmake every week at the same time, we could finally start a niche community that reignites Fireteam in a reliable and consistent weekly routine for everyone to enjoy. Does that sound good?
To summarize this post:
- We need 32-40 people to matchmake for Fireteam
- We need to be patient and give it some time
- To prevent that annoying wait for a lobby, I advise that you search as closely to 5pm EST as conveniently possible
- If you're late, don't worry – for all you know, we could've formed a lobby that's still available
32-40 players isn't a lot. That's like 4 TDM lobbies worth. That's nothing, we can easily gather together and play some Fireteam. We just need to step up and actually join the effort instead of being a bystander. So what do you think? If BO7 isn't for you, would you like to play Fireteam once or twice a week?
