Remember when even the most innocent and common video game felt extremely lonely, creepy, trippy, and out of this world? Made like this on purpose or not, I mean games like the PSX Harry Potter, Alundra, Xena, Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver, Castlevania, Parasite Eve… Even Mickey's Wild Adventure was a hell of a trip. I'm talking about a combination of graphics as evoking as simplistic sometimes, plus great ennviromental sound that made up for graphics limitations, and also characters who don't talk much because there aren't many NPCs around.

Do you guys know any PS3, 4 or 5 games that feel more or less similar? I'm so tired of games full of stimuli, like a hundred NPCs talking to you, huge environments hugely detailed that are actually boring, a thousand items to collect and craft and grind… I just like the feeling of getting lost in the middle of nowhere feeling weird things. The closer I've had these days was Dead Space, Mortal Shell, some regions in different Souls, and some indies.

Any ideas?

Sorry for the long post btw
