I delidded my 9800X3D and I’m still doing some tests with the heatspreader, direct-die, and the stock IHS.

Temperatures were reaching 90+ C in Cinebench 2024, basically my temperatures got worse.

So I grabbed my caliper, it’s the straightest thing I have at the moment, and checked whether the base of my new Lian Li waterblock was making proper contact with the CPU. As soon as I removed it from the CPU I could see the thermal paste hadn’t even been spread across the block, so I placed the caliper on the copper surface and saw that its base is convex.

I bought this waterblock over a month ago and I can’t return it.

Is it normal to be curved?
What suggestions do you guys have to try to get its base flat?
