Hello,

I have a decade old beast running i7-6900k and decided to overclock it. I initially had it at 4.2 GHz (1. 1 cpu cache voltage, 1.230 Core Voltage, 30 multiplier) ran a 1 hr on aida64 and prime95 for an hour each and the core temps were between 60- high 70s.

I know thats not a long stability test but my usage is very light right now. But I wanted to go further and get it to 4.3 Ghz (that was the initial goal tbh). I upped the voltage to 1.28 and multiplier to 34 and everything else kept same. So far the temps on prime95 (non-AVX version) is around 70-80s (reaching 85s during a 15 min testing)….

I want to know if i am on the right path and if the temps are “safe” or if I have to under volt and retest or even if I should go back to my 4.2Ghz settings

Please advise
