My Zotac Twin Edge RTX 3070 always throttles, so I decided to open it.

I repasted it a few days ago but when I opened it, it seems like the paste only stuck to the die and not the heatsink.

The GPU would always climb to 85°C and throttle. GPUZ says hotspot is around 105°C at max usage.

This really sucks because even after undervolting and making my fans run at 100% via MSI Afterburner, it still throttles clock speed to 256-512MHz.

Is my card defective? Or should I just replace the thermal paste and pads?

I'm also planning to upgrade my Inplay case to a Lancool 217.

The 4th picture was the thermal paste before I repasted it, and the newer pictures show my bad repaste job.
