Super Mario Galaxy 2Image: Nintendo

Nintendo is celebrating the return of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 in all sorts of ways, and apart from the enhanced releases for the Switch, it also recently updated Nintendo Music with the second game’s soundtrack.

Now, alongside today’s launch of Switch release, it’s added some additional tracks to its music app for Switch Online subscribers. This includes the Super Mario Galaxy ‘Good Night’ track and the Super Mario Galaxy 2 tracks ‘Twins’ and ‘Special Someone’ (via social media).

This follows an update to the music app earlier this week, which added the Princess Peach: Showtime! album. The Nintendo Music app also has the original Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack available. Additionally, Nintendo has released Galaxy-themed Switch Online icons, with Wave 2 now live.

Guessing these are for the new storybook parts, given how mellow they are. All very nice and relaxing, though Good Night and Special Someone might sound a bit too similar to each other.

Oh! Surprising.

I wonder if Mahito Yokota composed these. He hasn’t made music for a new Mario game since 3D World.

@N00BiSH they really need composer attributions on the app

CaleBoi25

I can’t wait for tomorrow!! These songs are very nice

N00BiSH

@charliecarrot for real. It’s not going to kill them if they just say that Mario games have composers other than Koji Kondo

Polley001

@N00BiSH Mahito Yokota is in the credits that are specifically for this release so they were involved at the very least. Shigetoshi Gohara who arranged music for Galaxy 2 is also listed.
