I’ve been working on a Ray Gun for months now with the goal of making the most accurate representation of the ray gun ever and I can confidently say that this will absolutely be 99.9% accurate to the game. The working ray gun replica was originally designed and invented by Andrew Lamson of TheRayGunProject. Anytime you see a working Ray Gun replica, it’s most likely his design. I reworked the geometry front to back, top to bottom so it’s an EXACT match to the game. The ONLY exception would be the 4 screw holes above the grip panels and a single USB-C port at the bottom of the grip.
It’s printed using SLA (resin) to preserve all the meticulous details without those distracting layer lines from conventional 3D printers.
I used multiple layers of Tamiya’s lacquer based spray paints and Alclad’s lacquer based airbrush paints. I also used the Dupli-Color wheel matte to seal the red parts.
This particular Ray Gun is already saved for a buyer although my intentions weren’t exactly to sell it. However, with the next iteration, I plan to make adjustments with the geometry and slightly different paint. I will share more and post a finished version with video when it’s ready. In the meantime feel free to comment, I’d love to talk more about it 🙂
My name is Jose and this is my interpretation of the Ray Gun from Black Ops 6 (and possibly 7 too)
