Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 launches for Switch and Switch 2 on Oct 2, 2025. These titles will be available digitally for $40 a piece, but will also be bundled together in a physical or digital collection for $70.

As we’ve previously mentioned, both titles feature improved UI, the option to play with button and stick or motion controls, an in-game music player, new Storybook content and enhanced resolution. Plus, a free update will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 that adds 4K resolution support for both titles.

In the days since the reveal, we’ve learned even more about how these two titles will be enhanced for their Switch/Switch 2 arrivals, and it turns out there’s two more tidbits to share. If you plan on playing these games on Switch 2, you’ll be happy to know that both titles will support Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Now just how that works remains to be seen, but with both titles using a reticle to fire Star Bits and more, it seems like mouse controls would work quite well as a Wii Remote replacement.

Along with that, no matter what system you plan to play the games on, you’ll also be able to enjoy refreshed textures when it comes to text and maps. Things will be looking a bit cleaner and sharper this time around, and you can see some examples of that in the video below.
