If you ever wanted to play EverQuest without all those pesky humans, then… well, you probably wouldn’t be reading an MMORPG site. However, that world exists in the form of Erenshor, a single-player MMO that faithfully recreates the vibe of playing EverQuest and other old-school MMOs, down to fake AI players who sound creepily real. And later this month, Erenshor is getting a big batch of new content to bolster its alone-together-but-actually-just-alone vibe.
“Burgee Media is proud to announce a game-defining update for Erenshor, the beloved simulated MMORPG,” the PR says. “The Call of the Storm Patch, launching September 26, brings a wave of changes to combat, class dynamics, world design, and user experience—solidifying Erenshor’s commitment to deep, strategic gameplay and rich world-building.”
According to the PR, the update rebalances core gameplay systems like combat and spells, expands the world with rebuilt zones, redefines class rooms, updates Duelists and Paladins specifically, implements the new Willowwatch zone, retools the UI, and increases party size from 4 to 5 players. Er, non-players. It’s confusing, OK? The release also adds the Stormcaller class, which has previously been teased as a “spellbow” that introduces archery into the game.
Burgee’s video tease for the patch is tucked down below.
