Fallout 1 was my first CRPG and I played Fallout 2 off and on for about 2 years after it released. Still some of my favorite RPGs ever.

The RPG aspects of Hell Is Us are nowhere near Fallout 1/2 as its an ARPG, but the dialoguge, green tint, music and vibe is reminding me a lot of the original Fallouts.

You had to pay attention and figure things out for yourself in the originals as well. No hand holding. I distinctly remember the frustration of not knowing what to do and satisfaction of figuring it out. Patient gamers has a good write up on this for those interested.

I'm still waiting for a game that offers you the option of talking the final boss into killing himself like in Fallout 1.
