I changed out some parts on my rig, I want to fu*k around with the 285K and CUDIMM's and see what magic might come… or disappointments.
I found it very interesting that the CUDIMM's seem to operate about 10-12°, higher than traditional DIMM's at the same clock speeds. In this case 6400 MT/s I haven't even OC'd anything yet.
My Dominator Ram was running at like 30°-32° idle/light and 41° under load even OC'ed to 7200 MT/s. These G Skill's just stock are idling at 40ish° (6400) I have one of the coolers sitting on top of this ram too, as I did not with the Dominator RAM. Now I'm Hella-curious what the temps will be like underwood OC'ed at over 8000 MT's (on most Z890's you can achive 8600-8800 MT's) I know alot of AMD kids out there might not realize.
I'm curious to the OC-Smart kids… the CKD really generates that much more heat on a CUDIMM?
I just read that sometimes G Skill forgets or does not thermal pad the PMIC? And also read that GSKill's thermostat is located in a different spot than other Memory makes, which can also throw off your actual memory temps?
Idk Im just looking into this now as I just got the system up last night at midnight… so need to explore / discover / research.
