To preface, I am a complete noob to this so I really have no idea what I am doing. I just starting to explore overclocking my memory and testing out the pbo curve optimizer on my cpu.
I have went and set my memory timings to the buildzoid timings (he uses cl30 in his video and I have cl28) and I saw a very slight improvement. I was wonder how I could go on and improve on it even more. Do I just keep tightening all of the timings until something breaks? When doing that should I mess with voltages? If there is a proper guide out there for this and not just copying someones settings I would love to see that, as I have not found anything. On top of this, I am not really sure what software to use to test the ram stability. I have seen many recommendations for different apps (y cruncher, aida64, karhu (I did buy this), occt, TM5) but they all seem to have a whole bunch of different settings/tests, which makes it quite confusing. If there is a good testing guide out there, I would love to see it.
I think that the curve optimizer for my cpu is quite a bit easier than the ram tuning as it is only the one option. I have messed around with it for a little bit but I have done no real testing, mainly because I am not sure how to exactly test it. I was running it in cinebench and I wasn't having any problems there. Again, I am not sure what apps to use and what tests to actually run.
My parts
CPU – 7800x3d
MOBO – gigabyte b650 gaming x ax v2 rev 1.0
RAM – gskill trident z5 royal neo-ddr5-6000-pc5-48000-cl28-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-f5-6000j2836g16gx2-tz5nrw-silver) (cl28, 6000mhz, 32gb, hynix a die)
EDIT1: I forgot to add that my cpu has literally never had temp problems and I don't think I have ever seen it reach its max temp (89 in bios). I am guessing this is because I am running a full water cooling loop, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't screw any settings.
