This is a very strange issue and I'm not sure what's going on exactly. I have a Palit RTX 3070 Gaming pro. I did an undervolt right away to 1830@850mhz. It consumed around 125w, down from 220 in stock.
It worked fine for about a year, until now. A few days ago I noticed that under heavy load the card became very noisy. I checked RTSS and found out that the card heavily dropped the clocks, but consumed full 220w (even though the voltage was still low).
The card runs pretty hot at stock power, especially the hot spot temps. If not for the power consumption, I'd think that it's just overheating. I reinstalled the drivers with DDU, reset undervolt and nothing helped.
I suspect that the chip is dying, but how could that happen from an undervolt? Is this fixable, or do I need a new GPU?
