While searching through my storage room for something completely unrelated I stumbled upon three absolute relics from my old PC building days that I had totally forgotten I owned. All of them are completely unused and still brand new in box
- ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition (a beast in its time)
- Corsair AX1500i PSU
- Corsair 900D case (did not take a photo yet but you know the big one)
I am pretty sure I bought these over 10 years ago with the plan to build an over the top fully customer watercooled monster rig. Life happened priorities changed and they ended up buried in storage without ever being used
These days I am not a hardcore gamer anymore. If I do play it is maybe only two or three times a month since I am a busy guy
Now I am wondering
- Should I continue the build for nostalgia and make a retro gaming or workstation setup
- Or should I retire them and turn them into something else like a shelf display
- Are these still valuable to collectors or hardcore retro PC enthusiasts
Would love to hear what you all think. Go full nostalgia build or repurpose them into something completely different
