Final Fantasy 14 is known for a lot of things, but a strong PvP focus isn’t really one of them. It’s a much-loved game for its story and casual content, but there is PvP in there for people that enjoy that side of MMOs, with modes like Frontline, Rival Wings, and Crystalline Conflict all offering different types of experiences.
Unfortunately, though, because PvP doesn’t get the same attention from Square Enix as other aspects of the game, the quality of the service is pretty rough. That’s made pretty clear by Crystalline Conflict, as the PvP scene has been dealing with boosters and win traders ever since it kicked off back in 2022, and cheaters are often slipping through the cracks.
Final Fantasy 14 Players Are Calling For Perma Bans For Crystalline Conflict Boosters
Win trading and boosting is a big issue that affects Crystalline Conflict in particular, and this series just gone has once again been ruined by cheaters. First pointed out by Twitter user Brian Ricardo, the Crystalline Conflict standings underwent a dramatic shift on the final day of the series, with two different accounts breaking into the top five.
In a single day, an account under the name Raevon Razvair managed to rack up 53 victories and amass 2,315 Star Credits, instantly propelling them to the top of the leaderboard and taking the crown from Crow Xo. Similarly, an account under the name Moki Moki also managed to get 31 victories and amass 1,893 Star Credits during the same time period, and it’s an almost guaranteed certainty that both have been boosting and win trading.
This is essentially people queueing into Crystalline Conflict with friends and alt accounts in an attempt to get a tonne of victories and steal the top spot on the last day before a new patch. It’s very sad behavior, and absolutely ban-worthy, but Square Enix doesn’t seem to be that on the ball when it comes to these issues.
Brian Ricardo has already used the opportunity to call for permanent bans for accounts that do this, while other Twitter users in the post point to it as a reason Final Fantasy 14’s PvP scene is never taken seriously. Regardless of your feelings, it sucks to see someone’s hard work ruined by a cheater, so here’s hoping that Square Enix starts dishing out some more severe punishments.
