I have a habit of throwing in more RAM or a new SSD when I get bored. I haven’t done the arbitrary RAM upgrade on my current computer yet but it’s a matter of time.
The random SSD upgrades are handy for the huge backlog, though, I’m more likely to get to it if I see I have it installed already.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting and having some nice tech. What bothers me is that a lot of people now pretend they must have new and overpowered hardware, to play the same old games, and also tell others they must have that.
Like it’s okay if you have a new SUV, with 500hp and loads of features, even if you don’t need it. But be honest about it, because if you start telling people, they must have the same car, to get groceries from around the block, you’re telling BS!
