Gosh this reminds me of how I went 2 weeks without internet because I went threw Spectrum and my wifi disappeared and they said it would take 3 weeks just to have someone sent out to look at it so I just switched over to a local company then the very next day after they installed the router my dog chewed right threw the coaxial cable

Those light slaps won’t do anything, you seriously need to be firm with your pet and make sure you teach it what things it should be playing with and which it should not.
