Only MasterCard stands to lose anything in this situation. Steam has already lost hundreds of millions in revenue by capitulating to the payment processors. They have no reason to lie about the decision to cut a significant portion of their revenue, and they sure as fuck wouldn’t do it unless they absolutely had to.
This is a bold faced lie, and I have no idea why MC would even attempt this.

if you guys care about this issue then call mastercard and visa and let them know you don’t like them controlling what you can purchase when its a perfectly legal product.
collective shout pressured visa (unless if this is false and mastercard did get pressured as well) to have these games removed. if more of us call and drown out these puritans then we can prevent censorship and maybe even reverse what censorship has already been made.
they wont stop at these game and they wont stop at just games. they want the internet censored because configuring their router to blacklist sites they don’t want their children on is too difficult for them.
