    >2K reportedly told Cloud Chamber’s staff that they need to be “*more agile and efficient,”*

Budget cuts and layoffs in coming.

you hella know this is gonna be a god of war/horizon-like where the player character narrates to the player everything that’s happening and how to play the game

  3. >hey this allegory about the disposability of people, can we cut staff and fill the gaps with ai?

    Shooooooooocker

These modern devs continue to fumble the ball on major titles with big consequences. At this point this is the norm and it blows

I can see where this is going… there goes all my hype.

TIL there is Bioshock 4, despite there not being Bioshock 3 (since it was Finite)

“We did two sea ones, we did a sky one. Get ready for…. an earth one!”

I just read about how they dealt with KSP2. Is the leadership so out of touch in the industry that they are now destroying this IP as well?!

Here I thought that 2K Marine was developing this but apparently they were closed. I have no clue who Cloud Chamber is but I have no hope for this now. 😔

  10. Burred at Sea expansion neatly wrapped up Elisabeth’s story. No need to go back and beat the dead horse. The story is over.

  11. They want it run with a skeleton crew most likely and want more microtransactions. AAA gaming is a corpse.

As is tradition. Ken Levine isn’t even running the show anymore, and his own spiritual successor to Bioshock has still not been released.

I know people who worked on this. They said it was a nightmare to work there. Just constant like changing their minds. Rushing. Disagreeing. Etc. They have 2 sets of directors. One in California one in Quebec. Which seems like a lot of people to disagree.

I know at least one of those studios has hemorrhaged employees for like the last 4 to 5 years.

Now they have a reputation for it.

And this is how I learned there was a Bioshock 4.

  15. Silvanus350

It never even occurred to me that they were making another Bioshock game.

  16. GrimmRadiance

At this point it doesn’t mean much to me. The storyline was closed and the gameplay archetypes could be continued in a new IP. The first game was very meaningful to me and 2 and infinite

I want bioshock 4 but if they want to fuck around, I’ll just wait for Judas.

We don’t know any specifics. We may in the future. For all we know, leadership is right. From what we accepted in this piece, the people they removed were given other roles, not outright fired. That’s actually a really good thing. Nothing’s perfect but at least people aren’t out on their asses for typical stuff like this, which I think you hear about more often than not.

Either way, it’s *Bioshock 4*. There didn’t even need to be a *Bioshock 2*, and *Infinite* was even worse. It was a darling when it came out but it had major issues and it simple coasted on the name and good will people had toward it than anything worth remembering.

Didn’t even realize this was in development. Probably better if it doesn’t come out

I no shit saw the headline, and thought “Damn!! Borderlands 4 is too close to releasing to have this shit happening!!”

I am a dumbass. It’s been a long fucking day.

  21. SemenSphinx

    Fucking RIP

I figured but it stills sucks to see

  22. DefinitelyNotRobotic

I feel like one of the biggest problems with games nowadays is there is never a core idea behind a game.

Games used to have a singular vision, now devs are tol “make a new Bioshock game” and thats it.

  23. SuperSlayer92

I really don’t care. It won’t be as good it will be “open world with crafting survival” Bull shit. If you wanna play Bioshock, just play 1 2 and…..3, I guess? Make a new IP!

  24. AJfriedRICE

Oh if the changes are coming from the publishing company “leadership”, they’re probably just changes that’ll make the game better

Isn’t Take-Two one of the companies that literally wants access to ALL your information? Like even banktransactions and stuff? Im not sure if im confusing them with someone else, but if they are this doesn’t deserve to see the light of day.

Played one and two through many times. Hated volume three so much I never finished it. The twist was obvious, mostly just not being able to save whenever I wanted ruined it.

Really love when a perfect trilogy is then followed up by a catastrophic 4th game. It’s giving Mass Effect.
