Target has updated their prices to reflect this change:
* OLED now costs $400 (increased by $50)
* Regular Model now costs $340 (increased by $40)
* Lite now costs $230 (increased by $30)

What’s interesting is that my FB marketplace and other community apps are flooded with extremely cheap Switch consoles. There is plenty of secondhand supply available, so not sure what this will accomplish.
Politics aside (fuck Trump) are people really still clamoring for Switch 1s? What’s the point? I’m by no means a business guy, but it seems smarter to me to keep it at its original price point and just let inventory die.

Has there ever been a previous generation of a console that increased in pricing across the board AFTER its successor was announced?
I’m genuinely curious because to my knowledge, consoles and games get cheaper as the generation advances. I don’t think I ever experienced multiple generations of consoles getting major price increases like this.

Seeing a $100 increase on the Xbox Series X at Walmart the other day was shocking. I got one two years ago on sale for $200 cheaper than it is now.
