It’s hilarious to think just how long the 1080Ti has managed to stay relevant, even without Ray Tracing and all the other stuff

No. I refuse this.

Donβt worry, we will still hear about it all the time.

Can I just say, even the apparently outdated GTX 1080ti, HAS MORE THAN 8GB of VRAM.
Fun-Opposite7528
I had to watch the whole video, incl. the slow motion shot…well done 1080TI
JgdPz_plojack
Nah, 3060 have done that earlier beating 1080 ti.
T_rex2700
It’s funny how 1080Ti aged. people said it was way too expensive when it came out vs 980Ti.
But when Turing came out (and those cards aged well… lol) 1080Ti’s rep was basically saved. then there after 30 series came out 1060/1660s faded vs 3060s, but 1080Ti stayed somewhat relevent for budget users. and if you had not sold your 1080Ti then the price had dropped considerably.
afterall there was no point buying 1080Ti for the performance, (or for collection) by the end of 30 series, even for people that was on very low budget
People totally forgot Pascal was the generation where Nvidia’s price raise kinda started, and just looking at the past with rose glass, I feel like. 1080Ti, other than its iconic value faded a few years ago and I thought that took too long.
Brigapes
Im still gonna use it, there’s no new game worth playing that requires a new gpu
Typhon-042
In the mean time I’m sticking with my Raedon 6600. Not cause of ray tracing. Cause it does what I want it to do, and works just fine with me. That and I don’t see the point of paying 450 for a a Nvidia anyway.
So, he couldnt feel his legs giving out? Are his tyres his shoes?

I went from 570 to 970 to 1070 to 3080 to 5080… 1070 stayed with me the longest and was a real bag for the buck champ, but I got the 3080 at MSRP for 840β¬ and it blew the 1070 to shreds, even without DLSS, and I can say almost the same about the 5080, but prices have become abysmal, and if I had known what a powerhouse the 9070 XT would be, I would have gone red, my wife did, she’s loving it.
ThinCrusts
Haven’t bought a laptop in over 10 years as I eventually got a desktop PC, but Ive been playing on that laptop for the last few weeks as I’m travelling on vacation and the 1070 mobile is still chugging along in Sekiro, EAFC 25, CS2, and BF1.
Spiderman and elden ring don’t feel too good though so sticking with that list for the next week or so

People buy 50 series cards?

My 3080 ti died, my brother lend me his sli 1080 ti (laying next to me) and today my new 5070ti will be delivered π
BlueShadow2388
5050 won’t last 2 years lol
Jokerferrum
Lol GTX 750 Ti still works for games like Doom Eternal and Baldur’s Gate 3.
Asturas
I still have 1080ti in one of my PCs. 5050? With 8Gb of RAM. In 2025? lol, absolutely not!
Raygen15
Finally retired mine. It had a great run. It will live on in another machine when the time comes. In its place, a worthy successor; a Sapphire 9070XT.
Didn’t every card post 1080Ti perform better ? What’s am i missing here ?
blahyashblah
I still have a 1060 6gb
MertviyDed
Well, it’s time for me to switch from 1080ti to 3090
_Pathorus_
Let us remember the good times, when the 1080TI was the rulet of gpus.
Skalgrin
This is even better, same as McQueen had to find out he still likes racing and there is a ton of enjoyment for him ahead with racing, but he just won’t be able to stay toe to toe with new competition. In the same way, 1080 Ti is a decent card for older titles and will be able to wheeze and squeeze as a good sparring partner even with newer titles on lower setting, framerates and resolutions.
Personally I would love to get my hands on a used PC with 1080 Ti in good condition – for my son.
LordAxalon110
Pfft. I’m still running my GTX 970….posh bastards with your 1080 ti
TrueIntimacy
I like how people are acting like when driver support ends the cards are immediately dead. Not only have new drivers from Nvidia been shit anyways, but I’ve gone over a year without updating multiple times and never had any issues.
This is one of those “The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated” moments, 1080 Ti’s are going to keep chugging on, with or without driver support, and though 5050’s might have better benchmarks, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them still lose in some real world scenarios after they hit their 8GB VRAM ceiling.
AsusP750
Hi I just upgraded my pc from 750 ti to 1050ti last year xd
baabumon
Upgraded from GTX970m to RTX 5060 last month. Haven’t played first game yet due to other priorities, but afterwards found a replacement battery for my clevo online and regretting the move.Β
The Clevo is still a solid one and not breaking a sweat with any applications I use, unlike the previous C2D Alienware which was showing its age in day to day use. And I dong play modern open world games anyway due to lack of time.Β
dvdpap
Me over here still rocking the 1050
Lolseabass
Dude I want one just to upgrade my old pcs 1650 lmao play some old games see what the fun was all about.
Went from a 650 β> 1650 β> 4070ti and man everytime I see fancy graphics I keep thinking my game is about to lag out lmao.

My 1080TI is still kicking strong! π€
I am going to replace it at the end of the year for a 5070TI on black Friday with a bit of luck π€
Arguably the other one is a RTX 4090 FE but yea… The GTX 1080 Ti FE served me well and technically still does as it is still in use in my second PC no longer used for Gaming ( also kinda serving as a Backup ***JUUUST*** in case the 4090 decides to become funny… Ya kno’… 12VHPWR Connectors and stuff… )
KisaraShera
I just “retired” my old PC that still got the 1080ti in it and it STILL works, even after almost 12 years, this card was still working for MOST of the stuff I tend to play. For my new one I unashamedly switched to an AMD, which has roughly the same power as a 4080 (Yeah Im poor and cant afford a 5080, bite me).
Various_Mechanic3919
Just recently grabbed a 1080 for my server to improve performance for my VMs, even after support ends it will stay legendary, my main pc runs a 3060 12gb which I think I will be using for a quite a while longer, I only really play indi games and I’ve pretty much stopped playing AAA games
MrMunday
pfffff still gets more vram
also second hand is cheap. I just got one for $80
