Ray tracing will be the end!

  1. What if it stopped showing up even in the mimimum specs?

  2. Away-Situation6093

Oh no , now with Mandatory RT to remove GTX users from being able to play

  3. FR_02011995

Don’t care, still have a big ass backlog of games to finish. My GPU will fucking die before I even manage to scratch 75% of my backlog.

  4. kreteciek

As long as it runs Ps and I haven’t finished my backlog, I’m fine with my PC.

2070S here. It’s happening to me, and it’ll happen to you too.

  6. Solitairee

Currently playing witcher 3 on ultra and it looks like a brand new game

  7. Murky-Ad5805

My 1060 actually does nowadays 🙂
    The end is coming…

To me the best modern games were made from 2010-2020. After that there’s like 4-5 games worth playing like elden ring and baldurs gate. I’ll be fine.

When the game’s recommended specs give you nothing but performance issues

Bahaha mine has been long past such for most games and software for a long time

  11. Best not to fit into current game makers’ delusions. If you can’t make a game that doesn’t suck up resources (not for a good reason at least), I am not paying.

Ray tracing was the beginning. Upscaling is the middle. Frame generation is the end. All three combined is the final, complete result. And it will be good, it already is at the top end of hardware.

  13. I remember building my first PC back in 2002 with an AIW Radeon 7500 (DX7 card), things moved so fast back then that I swear that minimum requirements skipped right over DX7 to DX8/8.1 with their fancy pixel shaders.

Nope, couldn’t run games like Splinter Cell 2 back then despite the demo version being fully playable, we’ve been lucky up until now that our old cards have been usable for so long!

my bottlenecked GPU desperately asking for my very outdated CPU to help at all

  15. SullenTerror

Both my gpu and cpu were in minimum specs two years ago.

  16. Obvious_wombat

My near 900 games. The overwhelming amount unplayed, don’t give a rat’s ass

  17. el_ratonido

    To me it’s a blessing since I had a GT 740 and I upgraded to a GTX 960 2 months ago

  18. If you buy an xx80 class card the good news is this will probably never happen. Because they’ll say it’s a newer cheap card that’s way better than yours now.

  19. ArchCaff_Redditor

This already happened to me 3 years ago. I’ve just accepted it for now.

  20. shallowwell2

If you dont like new games there is no need to upgrade there are millions of other games to play

  21. c’mon GTX 1060 just make it one more year for a decade

  22. MasiastyTej

It happened to me one, but fortunately I was in a middle of upgrading my PC

  23. Jumpy_Chemistry_417

Honestly, my 1060 is still chugging along just fine with older titles, and I’m not in a rush to upgrade anytime soon. It’s wild how quickly RT is becoming a baseline requirement when half of us are still drowning in unplayed games. Devs pushing mandatory RT feels like they’re leaving behind a huge chunk of the player base for no good reason. At this rate, my backlog might outlive my GPU’s ability to run anything new.

  24. Meh, pc gaming is all about freedom to choose, i was sitting on RX 480 for ages, could still play Cyberpunk on ultra with 30 fps lock but also could get 60 fps with lower settings.

Minimum system specs are for people that know nothing about specs or tweak their settings.

  25. gasgas419

my 760M integrated graphics are luckily getting replaced by a 9060xt soon

  26. Level1Roshan

Not as bad as when you click on a benchmark video for the game you want with a title like ’30 GPUs tested!’ and your card isn’t even on the lists anymore.

  27. BrokenInsideF0rever

I’m still running a used Vega 64 I bought after my RX480 started to fail… My OC is one of the top 14 Steel Nomad scores for that card. It’s getting old but I ain’t hear no bell!

  28. HeWhoToasts

What about when it’s below the minimum specs, that hurts the most for me and it’s happening more often than not with my 5 year old 1650

  29. BallEater010

When i saw Borderlands 4 minimum requirements and then looked at my 2060, “your time will come when i have enough to replace you, you poor soul.”

  30. DaikiAce05

Lol I’m still using gt 610 what would you say for that..🤔

  31. poweredbyford87

I’ll never have that problem with my GPU lol

  32. Electronic_Sound144

At this point my 12400f and 4060 feels like it is gonna last forever with the amount of games I collected over the years, and I have ps5 to secure me for the next 10 years, considering how long it took for ps4 to die I am guessing it will be the same with ps5
