I have this headcanon that every time V is talking with Johnny on the badland’s motel roof the random person drinking beer a few meters away is sweating in terror as their scanners tells them that weirdo who keeps coughing blood and is either talking to themselves or, worse, quietly gesturing in anger and flipping the bird at the empty air, has combat cyberware worth as much as the military budget of a small country.

I think the intention is that the “conversations” between V and Johnny happen quickly, faster than speaking. But at certain points the game suggests otherwise, usually as the butt of a joke.
