Smaller, highly detailed mutli-level hub maps are fine. Deus ex did a good job, with things reacting to you if you did X mission then returned

I would appreciate it if more games focused on density over vastness. I could probably tell you exactly where I am if you show me a photo of a place like Kamurocho, in fact I could probably tell you what shops and restaurants are nearby. If you showed me a photo from any open world I’ve played in for the last decade or so I would have significantly more trouble. That more densely packed design makes a better impression on my brain.

Are they ACTUALLY making a game at all LOL.

At some point, it’s “sh*t or get off the pot”.

Bloodlines 2 is still being worked on? Huh, I thought it was cancelled by this point.

  5. The article also mentions that they swapped out the original young thinblood protagonist for a 400 year old vampire who’s been in torpor for the last 100 years.

I think that was a very smart change to make honestly. Vampire clans are the number one thing that make this setting interesting it’s crucial to include that especially when the game is literally named “Bloodlines”.

It lets the player descend from an older more powerful generation of vampire which is fun the game should embrace the powers rather than water them down so I’m glad they did that. Additionally I think an older protagonist who is totally unfamiliar with modern technology is way more flavorful as well that way I don’t have to check my smart phone when I’m in the middle of drinking somebody.

Maybe they might be able to rescue this game after all I’m intrigued.

The original 2 games were definitely formative gaming experiences for me. The original game is a bit dated now but still definitely playable, for anyone who hasn’t experienced that. The 2nd game, despite various bugs and jank, was still an amazing RPG. I’ve been looking forward to this sequel for so long that like many others, I just kind of assumed that it was never going to actually release. Love seeing stuff like this to show the game is still being actively developed (someone even said October planned release?!)
