Alien Breed: Tower Assault had a simple explanation for where Player 2 went if you started a 1P game, your partner is killed in the shuttle crash that starts the game.

“Nash is dead, you’re on your own”. Alien Breed was always very hard, and Tower Assault is eye-watering.

That’s cool any way to play it on pc or switch?

Great game, probably my favourite Alien Breed due it’s nonlinear level design. I wish Team 17 would consider doing a new Alien Breed in the original pixel art style, top down view (kinda like Sonic Mania).

One of the best Amiga games ever…

This reminded me of Baldur’s Gate 3’s in-universe explanation for when a co-op partner is offline but they’re character is still in your party.
Forgot the exact wording, but it’s basically “the lights are on, but nobody’s home”
I always wonder why more games, especially indie, don’t adopt this bird eyes view? I know its not the most visually striking, but it still has a level of immersion. The only games I can think off the top of my head are Hotline Miami, Space Crusade (PC 1992), Police Stories, GTA2, and Darkwood.
To be clear, I mean completely top down, not the 3/4 top down like Stardew Valley.

That’s actually brilliant game design. Simple, logical, and instantly explains why you’re suddenly alone. Way better than some convoluted plot device.
