    Trauma Center series.
Especially Trauma Center: Under the Knife 1 and 2 on the DS.

also if you like Hotel Dusk, there was a sequel called “*Last Window: The Secret of Cape West*”. Unfortunately never released in the North America.

    I didn’t know if it’s really a hidden gem but Trepang2

There’s also Ghost Recon for the 3ds

Astral Chain (Again, not sure of its really a hidden gem)

  3. funnyguy349

Kingdoms of Amalur Re Reckoning. It’s like an offline MMO

  4. laddervictim

Great puzzle game but it had me closing the screen on every puzzle after that certain one

  5. Well, for starters I would recommend Trace Memory to anyone who enjoys Hotel Dusk Room 215. 🙂

  6. The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age is a fantastic turn-based RPG with similar combat to Final Fantasy X. You play as a party who follows the fellowship along their journey, running into their own troubles in the same areas. Fantastic combat and RPG elements. It often gets overlooked as you don’t play as the main heroes from the movies, and it’s not the typical action game the series was known for at the time. I played it on GameCube, but it’s also on PS2 and original Xbox.

Sims urbz in the city. Goths, punks, skaters, hip-hop fashion, high fashion, industrial-artsy fashion??

The job mini games were really fun, I loved making sushi in the neon district. And the soundtrack was killer. Simlish versions of black eyed pea songs lmao

Edit: But not the Gameboy version.

Shadow Hearts. Super weird dark/gothic JRPG in an alternate timeline historical fiction 1890s Earth that uses a timing ring for hit/miss/crit… the system that Expedition 33 borrowed from.

Deadly Creatures for the Wii. An awesome game where you play as a brawler scorpion or a ninja-like tarantula trying to survive in the gobi desert while a crime drama surrounding treasure and murder plays out in the background. It does scale better than any other game I’ve ever played. The controls are great, even the waggle. The human background characters are played by freaking Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper. And the final boss is >! Hopper. You kill him by stinging him in the dick! !<

    Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.

It’s kind of a story / puzzle game with a really cool concept. You’re some kind of ghost thingy that can posses and control objects, with which you have to keep save the life of a girl.

Very lovely art style, refreshing concept, surprisingly deep plot and over all, just way to underrated imo.

Initially released on the Nintendo DS but got a mobile port later and a Steam port pretty recently.

  11. Arc Twilight of the Spirits. PS2 JRPG that I never see anyone mention yet it’s one of my favourite games. The story is 10/10, the combat not too difficult but not the simplest, the score is great, just perfection for me.

If we’re talking about Ds game I highly recommend **Lunar Knights**. It’s essentially a sequel to the original Boktai trilogy on the GBA but it ditches the solar sensor. A lot of fun. Another great Ds game is **Fossil Fighters**. Think Pokemon but you dig up bones to create your monsters and then fight them against other dinosaurs. It has 3 games 2 on the Ds and 1 on 3ds but the 3ds game is considered a downgrade compared to the first 2.

From the abyss de Nintendo DS, si te gustan los videojuegos de fantasía RPG y exploración de mazmorras, es jodidamente bueno, tiene rejugabilidad y es muy adecuado para ser el típico juego casual

For me, it’s The Forgotten City.

It started as a Skyrim mod, and somehow ended up being a full standalone time-loop detective thriller set in ancient Rome.

Brilliant writing, moral dilemmas, and you can literally talk a god into a nervous breakdown.

No combat required (unless you want it).

    Criminally slept on.

  15. Wonderful-Zebra-6439

Silent bomber for the PS1, still enjoyable up to this day

Tell us about this game OP – why’s it a hidden gem? What’s it about?

  17. To me it’s Crosscode and Death’s Gambit:Afterlife. Both amazing experiences that deserve more recognition than they got.

  18. blueskydragonFX

Tales of Eternia. I spend allot of hours playing this on my PSP.

  19. wintersoIdier

Vampyr. Great acting, great atmosphere, character deaths seriously impact the story and feel heavy

  20. Policenauts. It’s Hideo Kojima’s best game.

Not sure if this counts, but I nominate the Zero Escape series. A mind-bending multi-timeline story with wild twists and turns, fun characters, mysteries that keep you guessing, and a good amount of murder. Roughly half visual novel, half escape room puzzles. A great time all around.

  22. Pasta-hobo

The last Tuesday trilogy by Perfectly Paranormal.

Manual Samuel, Helheim Hassle, and The Holy Gosh Darn.

Manual Samuel got some recognition by popular let’s players, but the other two were completely overlooked, despite being amazing puzzle platformers with great worldbuilding and interesting mechanics.

Helheim Hassle has you solving puzzles by detaching and reattaching your limbs.

The Holy Gosh Darn has an amazing time travel mechanic, you rewind and fast forward time. Actual, real, game time. And you can yell at obstinate NPCs and tell them what’ll happen if they don’t cooperate. It’s great!

If you like JRPGs, especially old-school JRPGs, check out Chained Echoes. It’s made by one guy but it’s an all-timer imo.

If you like hyper-fast shooters like Neon White or Painkiller, check out I Am Your Beast.

If you like space dogfight sims, check out Chorus. Best spaceship combat of all time.

If you like Visual Novels and/or tabletop RPGs, check out Citizen Sleeper.

  24. Needagirlfriend2025

The black ops ds version and maybe brain age

  25. Cheeseburger2137

Ghost Master – it’s got a really unique premise and gameplay. May be hard to run now on modern PCs, but there’s a remaster coming that I hope will be at least more convenient to play, if nothing else.

Night in the woods. The storyline hit me in a way no game has ever done before
