Saw him in what appears to be a wheelchair. In this universe where we can have legs that double jump, what could be holding him back from getting chrome legs??? Genuine question

Spinal cord damage, possibly. Cyberware still needs to interface with a functioning spinal cord in most cases. Even the Sycust Cyberspine is more about protecting your fleshy bits (at least how I read it).

The real question is why he doesn’t have a Rocklin Augmentics cyberchair (answer: probably because rigging it would have been a lot of work for a one-off character).

Chrome anything is more expensive than just getting an organic replacement. There is also a period of required physical therapy and learning to use your new hardware that the game doesn’t force you to observe because V is dying and the game would be very short if you had to spend all of your limited time on that. There is also upkeep costs for chrome limbs so if you don’t need them for your job right now it’s probably best to downgrade because maintenance is not cheap. They also don’t make you do this in the game because it wouldn’t be fun.

The organic replacement also requires physical therapy by the way, just less of it because the weight and movement of an organic limb would be more familiar than Destructor 9000 Super Calves Mark III with optional rocket booster heels. This guy could also be recovering from an upgrade or implant and just wanted to be seen at the party so badly he rented a wheelchair and went even though he can’t physically stand yet.

  3. There’s the T-Claw in a wheelchair selling clothes and you can ask him since when do gangers sell clothes and he’ll say he has a fucked up spine. Now obviously, guy at the Black Sapphire will have a lot more money, but he may have a damaged spinal cord or a disease like MS that can’t easily be treated.

  4. One of the endings explains how a person may not be able to use cyberware due to neurological damage.

    There is always a solution

Someone chose to not have their body modified. Claire did the hard route of medication and the lots, no augmenting Cyberware or anything

  6. Currently, IRL, cochlear implants are an option to enable deaf/hard-of-hearing people to hear again. Lots of people in deaf culture don’t view their lack of hearing to be a disability though, and don’t get cochlear implants.

No idea who this guy is, or what his deal is, but even if everyone could afford and benefit from chrome, not everyone would want it.

We know some disabilities and ailments simply can’t be cured or fixed by cyberware. This guy appears in PL right? Same dlc with slider, a blind wheelchair bound netrunner with damage to his optic lobe, blinding him in a way that cyberware can’t even fix.
