Guilty Gear Strive recently celebrated its fourth anniversary, and there’s more big updates coming to the game in the near future.
Arc System Works has now released their 18th volume of the Developer’s Backyard detailing what’s on the way for the game in the coming months.
Producer Ken Miyauchi starts the post by once again apologizing for the hacking incident the company recently faced, which has apparently set back some of their roadmap a bit.
They confirm that the final Season 4 character Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be arriving next month in August though that’s not all.
Strive is finally going to get what fans have been asking about for years now with a more traditional Ranked Match option instead of the towers.
Players will be able to randomly queue up against opponents of a similar rank on a per character basis while the Rank Tower will be changed to Duel Tower and serve as more of a general open lobby quartered off by skill level.
On top of that, there will also be a balance update next month as well focusing on nerfing Wild Assault, Guard Crush and R.I.S.C.
Individual character adjustments will also be made to help suit these changes.
They also basically confirmed that we’ll be getting a Lucy trailer with a date for this update at Evo 2025 early next month too.
Nintendo Switch owners will apparently have to wait until this Fall to receive the update that’ll add in the remaining Season 4 characters and features.
This also comes after Miyauchi promised big things for the future of Strive after Season 4, but also the report of a cancelation of a new Guilty Gear title at the company.
