Well tbh it is. Imagine if it was a thing today and you are a dude who can basicaly fry in second anyone who crosses you. You could have a biggest gun or strongest muscles but if you decided at some point to have a cyberware you are fucked.

It really is the best class overall. It’s not as visually appealing as using any weapons but you can take down an entire room full of enemies almost instantly.
Makes sense as this cyberpunk (the fiction sub set not the game’s title) and in cyberpunk hackers are like the wizard class in any fantasy.
I’m just satisfied that this cyberpunk game unlike others of the past actually has the balls to make the hacking class as powerful as it should be and not curtail it in some kind of absurd notion to balance it with the rest of the game’s combat (if you recall the 2010s Deus Ex reboot). Hacking at a high level should feel godlike in a world has depicted in cyberpunk fiction.

I’m always full blown netrunner, every play through. I’ve only recently started messing with guns, mainly because of the Yinglong, but Jackie’s pistols are also OP.
