Try and get closer to the head, and also when you are crouched like that, it makes it much easier for them to hit your chest/neck/head.

Kidding aside: hart to say…reaction time? Or you „sitting“ in the corner and opponent just got better shots of because opponent didn’t have to track a moving target. So even if he didn’t see you at first, you had to shoot at a moving target and he at a still one. The LC10 with aim like that will most likely always get you.
Maybe, when hearing the footsteps, you could have slid to the right or out of cover and have taken the initiative on firing. Then you’d also be a moving target and surprise the opponent, as he most likely tried to sweep that room and was somewhat expecting you in that corner

He knew where you were, he headed straight into the building and turned right where you were, you didn’t do anything wrong he’s cheating for sure
