Been using the same rig for 10years with only some minor updates. Wife came home with this and said it's time to move on and start fresh! Looking forward to getting another 10yrs of gaming and countless more in this marriage!

Any part recos for a good upper-midrange build that won't totally break the bank?

Got me thinking she left you and only let you keep the case!

Hahaha damn I thought wife decided to move on so you could finally play again, but I guess this is an even better story 😀

Probably wanna look into and AM5 build, like 7500F or 7600 paired with a 9060XT 16Go or if you can find a used 6800XT that would probably be the best bang for your buck while still upgradeable

    I would go for a ryzen 5 9600x + 9060xt 16gb w 32gb ram CL32 or 30 at 6000mhz, 750-850w psu and 2tb nvme

Give a budget and you’ll get more definitive help!

Also I thought you were ‘moving’ and still had your pc box after 10 years to transport it safely, which is the way.

I have the same case. It’s really nice and easy to build in.

Well, depending on your budget and since you keep hardware for 10 years I recommend to “ ball out “ and drop a few racks if your situation allows.

You better put that trophy catch on a plaque, she’s a keeper for sure lol 🐟

But for real, man you better have a heck of a date night planned to show her how awesome she is 💓

Congrats OP! I just want to say, whatever decision you make now, I would highly encourage going AM5, and if in doubt, spend a bit more on the GPU than the CPU. (Example, doesn’t make sense to pair a 9800X3D with a 9060, etc etc)

Also, depending on the choices in your area, you may also find pretty good deals with Microcenter and/or the marketplace.

I have been so far lucky and all the rigs at home are made of 80 – 90% second hand parts, never had any major issues yet. Just need to scrutinize a bit more when buying second hand.

    Good luck and congrats!

Also, research on what CPU/GPU to pair for the resolution you are targeting if you want to get the most bang for buck. Only go overkill if you are targeting an upgrade in the short term. Enjoy!

I got a 7800X3D and a 5080FE. I know the 5080 market is a little wild so maybe an amd equivalent GPU, but I couldn’t be happier! Cheers, happy gaming!

What did you have in it before?
    If you’re looking mid

    I’d go:

    ASUS TUF B650-PLUS

    Ryzen 9 9950X

    64GB DDR5 (Crucial)

    3090Ti

    Storage

    Power supply

    Case
