Honestly I’m probably going to sell my 5090. I always wanted to be able to build a top of the line PC growing up and went for it now that I can afford it, but I don’t play anything that utilizes the card. Very very rarely I’ll play Cyberpunk or something and the extra frames are nice but not nice enough to justify the absurd price.

Meanwhile I’m still rocking my 6750XT that I upgraded to almost two years ago. Before that I was still using my RX 590 that I upgraded to (by force) in 2019. Not the best but it runs what I want to play in a way that I find satisfactory.
Though I’m still running on an 8th gen Intel i5. I should do something about it soon. But, meh, still works and haven’t had issues.

I purchased a used 3070 a couple of months ago, I’m very happy with it, more than enough for what I need. Even though I have a 280hz monitor, I usually play everything on a locked 60, I don’t play many shooters, especially multiplayer ones. It is not much but it’s an honest life 🙂

It’s all about perspective. Last month I moved from an 11 year old Xbox one and a 60hz tv to a pc with a 4070S and an oled 1440p 240hz monitor. I guarantee I’m enjoying that more than the guy who dropped a cars worth of cash on a card. It’s more than enough, it’s outrageous. I’ve got cyberpunk on max settings w path tracing and not dipping below 80fps. I’m having so much fun!

Owning a 5090 is like owning a crap Ferrari. Sure it’s still very good because it’s a Ferrari and not a regular normie car, but relative to what is expected at that price point, it’s not there.
And the 5090 with the technical issues, the power demands, and the sad fact that unoptimised modern games won’t run right on *anything*, and older games don’t need a 5090, is a 5090 really delivering? I’d say not.
