Absolutely amazing game IMO. So much heart to all those mercs you can hire with their action movie trope filled back stories and banter. Lots of fun exploring the map and managing your team. I rate it up there with the greatest classic isometric PC games like Fallout & Baldurs Gate.

I still own this box of the German version.
With 1.13 you can still play this today and it’s still perfect.

For anyone who’s never played this: this is probably THE best turn-based tactics game that’s ever been made. Back in the 90’s, Jagged Alliance and (original) XCom were the Big 2 turn-based tactics franchises, and honestly, the gameplay of JA2 was leagues ahead.
There’s so much gameplay depth and tactical options available in JA2, which is especially impressive considering the time when this game was made. You can: crouch, lie prone, crawl while prone, stealth, stealth *backwards* while crouching, climb onto rooftops, spend extra action points (AP) to precise-aim, go for headshots or legshots, and more.
