Valve just made a HL3 reference in CS2 and we cannot figure out why. Perhaps Valve felt like being jokers today – or perhaps – they wanted to drop a spicy hint to a certain 3rd installment.

That is just a nod to half life fans and a meme that valve cant count to three. Why are we seeing HL3 everywhere? We are not as copium as GTA6 fans looking at moon phases but it's still unhealthy. I'm a fan of the series for i dunno, sth like 7 years, and i was there too, hyped for sth that may be coming or may be not. Give up guys. Everyone who has big expectations will be disappointed again and again
I might be a out of touch millennial, but I remember playing Cs Beta 5.6 and 6.1. As a Halflife mod. Yes CS started as a mod for the first Halflife. BTW, so did Team Fortress. So, I don't think it's curious, just a nod to tradition.

I'd rather they not make a HL3. I've lost my confidence in them. Even keeping their awful online components aside, CS2 for example lost a lot of it's CSGO charm. They just copied many famous mechanics from other games and called it a day (charms, agent skins). Smokes are probably the only innovation
Even if they release HL3 I feel it will not be as good, it won't Innovate like the others did.
