Due to a fire incident, the original main stage burned down completely two days before the festival started. As a result, the production team decided to build a new improvised stage using Metallica's production equipment, leaving the destroyed stage behind and continuing its demolition during the festival.

The sight of the destroyed stage, with heavy machinery operating behind the functioning main stage lit up with lights and effects and surrounded by fantasy-themed decorations, feels dystopian and dark.

What do you think?

They’ve quite obviously kept the remains of the stage and the heavy equipment there as a backdrop to the new mainstage.

They’re showing why it’s not the grand spectacle that they usually put up, but showing their dedication to keeping the party going.

Honestly it’s anything but dystopia to me. Perseverance in the face of incredible odds.

They put on a festival after their main stage burned down, and you think it looks dystopian? I don’t get that, not at all. I think people are awesome when they come together to build something, and this is a great example of building something.

I don’t get the part about using Metallicas equipment, was it just sitting there?
