It’s nonsense …… Ignore it. I manage hundreds of email accounts for clients and see at least 2 of these a week.

    Rest easy friend !

    😉

Edit : If it’s a personal domain name email address, you may want to check the records to ensure it’s configured properly and not being spoofed.

I don’t even have a webcam and I still get this message every now and then. It’s just clickbait.

Not to mention, Pegasus is only sold to governments and costs fuc ton of money. Rando won’t buy such a thing to just peep on some dude. Scam, relax and forget.

“Enjoy the show” would be the correct response

Is this the one that says the saw you looking at porn and pleasuring yourself? I used to reply with something along the lines of “You recorded me? OH THANK GOD! Do you have the link to what I was watching? I lost it and wanted to go another round! You are a life saver!”

  6. Infected_Toe

    Scam.

My older brother got one of those, and he owns neither a webcam nor a smartphone.

  7. Rapscagamuffin

Anyone that has dirt on you will show you at least some of the dirt on you to start with. If they didnt display anything to you then they dont have anything.

But also, this is an incredibly common scam. Just ignore it.

  8. What kinda freaky shit do you do that you take this seriously?

  9. i got yesterday an email that am ex-partner/lover has sent a hitman for me.. yeah, very realistic for a redditor

  10. Dankey_Kang_8

Hello pervert is a hilarious email opening. I might try it out at work tomorrow.

  11. Stuff like Pegasus costs like hundreds of thousands of dollars per followed person lol.

  12. Mental-Attempt-

The fact that you’re worried about it is kinda sus…. But its a scam….you can get back to whatever illegal shit you were into with no worries.

  13. I got this exact email yesterday. Word by word from my own email…. Ignore it.

If people wanna see the fucked up shit I watch that’s their problem

  14. It’s phishing, not blackmail. Exactly one info from this mail is true: your email address is known to someone, somewhere, along with billion others.

Ignore or use it to have a bit of fun at the scammer’s expense.

Ok, now we have calmed you down… you owe us answers.

Why were you so worried? How much of a pervert are you?! 😆

  16. Lunavixen15

It’s a sextortion scam done with email spoofing. I get these semi regularly, don’t stress, but if you can’t settle your concerns, change your password and make sure 2FA is on.

  17. Completely fake do not worry at all. Although I must say, “hello pervert” it is a cracking opener. Rolls off the tongue, might start using that in my work emails.

Pegasus is Israeli spyware. Spies don’t tell their targets they’re spied on. That’s not how espionage works.

  19. PalgsgrafTruther

I don’t understand why you people don’t ever Google shit.

“Pegasus scam” into Google would tell you everything you learned from this post.

  20. It’s bullshit. I got something similar a few years ago citing a password I hadn’t used in 14 years and it saying they had video of me wanking on webcam. I did not have a webcam when I used said password.

  21. Mean_Git_

It’s an oldie. These cunts couldn’t crack an egg for breakfast let alone crack a password.

  22. Charming_Computer_60

Other have already explained why it’s a scam but just wanted to add that the wording itself points to a scam.

If they really had access to your stuff and watched you they would have given a specific detail / thing you did to prove it instead of being vague and general.

“You are currently in a very serious situation. However, there is a way out – if you act wisely”

    Yeah…no.
