Make more fun for Shareholder profit and when the work is done they fire all the employees that made the game
SenseIndependent7994
I know ubisoft is dumb as hell but did they actually say that
BloodstainedXVI
Makes it more fun for the Buck Strickland ass higher ups when they go to the strip club with the money they made and do coke off a stripper’s ass.
Tzazon
And Ubisoft would be wrong. I play singleplayer games to escape the bastardization that live service FTP games went through, with fomo dailies/weekies, season passes etc to attempt to keep you permanently glued, while shoving a cashshop of cosmetics into the game that devalue the setting/theme of the world in order to appeal to every demographics sense of humor/fashion.
When every aspect of daily life is an advertisement shoved down your throat, I’d like the things I purchased with $60 to now even $80 dollars to be free of those advertisements.
Terrible_Detail8985
It’s actually crazy how much out of touch these people are.
Proxy0108
They’re right, watching their flailing during the downfall is entertaining as hell, and single player microtransactions help them falling faster

In other news… *Casino argues letting players pay $5 to pull lever makes slot machines “more fun.”*
FuriousCrunch
do these morons never learn
King_Kvnt
And will continue to argue it while so many people whale up and keep buying.

Ubisoft are wrong
Sixclynder
The thing that kills me is I won’t mind paying extra for outfits if they were actually good but all the assassin creed dlc
Outfits are not very good
Showdown5618
None of us are agreeing with this nonsense, and I doubt they believe their own B.S. Micro-transactions making games fun for gamers. If by “fun” they mean money, and “gamers” they mean corporations, then yes. Micro-transactions make more money for corporations.
CMDRLtCanadianJesus
I can literally already do the shit they’re talking about with fucking *cheat engine*, console commands, & Wemod trainers.
At this point, I hope Ubisoft dies out faster than Concord.
Leramar89
I wish Ubisoft would just hurry up and go bankrupt already. They haven’t made anything decent in ages.
Shamee99
How is pausing the game and going to a in game store to buy credits even gameplay not to talk of fun. I rather stare at a loading screen but i guess we on Reddit are always the minority if not Ubisoft wouldnt have made huge revenue from it.
Combustion14
Playing games that aren’t made by Ubisoft are even more fun
Lekonua
Nothing says “we are confident in our game” like giving users the option to pay you more to play it less.
RedTurtle78
TLOZ Tears of the Kingdom’s rewards for exploration had a lot more armor and weapons that were previously amiibo only in Breath of the Wild. It made exploration more exciting as someone that didn’t buy amiibo for Breath of the Wild at all. These publishers forget that rewards like this used to be found in game instead of purchased with money.
Cimmerian_Noctis
Factually incorrect. They gotta stop with this bs.
staticusmaximus
Yeah well Ubisoft also thought Ranked 2.0 was a good idea, so idgaf what they think
BLYNDLUCK
No it makes them more addictive.
XRuecian
This is such a stupid thing for them to say.
“Letting players pay money for avatar customization makes the game more fun for them.”
Translation: “We made a game but purposefully held back on character customization so we could sell it to you later.”
You know what would be even more fun? Letting them get those avatar customizations for free by actually playing the game they paid for.
“We want to allow players to buy XP boosts so that that players who don’t enjoy grinding can experience the story.”
Translation: “We purposefully made it grindy or slow and didn’t add in an easy mode for the casual players so we could sell them a solution later.”
“Some players like to hoard and collect treasure, so we allow them to buy inventory space to improve their experience.”
Translation: “We purposefully made your inventory small so we could sell you more.”
This isn’t improving a gamer’s experience. Its simply exploiting their enjoyment.
All of these “solutions” they are selling you are solutions to problems that they purposefully manufactured. These problems don’t exist unless they want them to.
Microtransactions can only be justified in free-to-play games. If you are paying for a game, especially at full price, any microtransactions after that fact are simply exploiting you because they know they can. It means that they developed a full-price game, and purposefully held back on features so that they could sell them to you for extra.
LThadeu
Unlocking things is fun, not the paying part.
MiddleCanary
No, it’s more fun to collect all outfits for free in my single-player game, which I paid full price for.
NY_Knux
Its so weird seeing text-book abusive relationship gaslighting of this magnitude coming from a company that REALLY should be focusing on repairing their brand.
This is so weird.
Teftell
In what way?
Ok-Win-742
That’s why nobody buys Ubisoft games anymore. Their idea of fun is wack AF.
burnerbros707
Microtransactions in a free-to-play gacha game? Sure i’d understand and willing to spend a little bit here and there.
But microtransactions in a paid single player game is just vile
Robobvious
Judge: But how do microtransactions make them more fun?
Ubisoft: We’ve started to lock the fun behind the microtransactions.
OsamaDidItRight
Are people seriously still buying Ubisoft games? Why doesn’t the entire gaming community just boycott them and let them die out already?
