It’s annoying that we’re basically an afterthought nowadays

One day the ai bubble will pop and they will come crawling back

  2. HotRoderX

Like one of the talking heads on Tv said recently, we are in a AI bubble. When that burst things are going to change drastically like when the .com bubble burst in early 2000’s.

I could see prices of cards going down drastically for the simple fact Nvidia’s going to need to sale anything they can to make up for lost profits on there AI cards.

if i upgrade my desktop its gonna get an RX580 lol

The sad thing is even with them giving basically zero fucks about the gaming GPU market they’re still running circles around AMD in terms of features and value that they bring.

I can’t wait for the AI bubble to burst and for EVGA to come back in all its former glory!

It’s gonna be great, right guys?

nv doesn’t care about gamers anymore, which makes them worthless in the gaming space. fuck nvidia, they’re not even trying to make any good cards, they just want to cater specifically to crypto whores and AI slop. they don’t deserve gamer attention anymore.

  7. SteamedGamer

First it was the crypto mining bubble, now it’s the AI bubble. When do we get a “PC Gaming” bubble (or did it already come and go)?

  8. Switched to amd just recently. Screw your dlss, No turning back

  9. Kore_Invalid

well hopefully AMD keeps going in the right direction and Intel keeps investing so Nvidia cant just do whatever they want

Even if the AI bubble pops, the money they earned in the past several years is enough for them to sustain several decades (after mass layoff).

I am pessimistic about prices dropping.

    It used to be Cryptocurrency.

    Then the Pandemic.

    Then the AI craze.

To top it off, it’s a freaking monopoly controlled by Nvidia with AMD happy to keep prices artificially inflated. Intel is hardly a blip on the radar.

After the AI bubble bursts consumers will get AI priced cards so get ready for the $10 000 rtx 7090.

That’s why I went from a 3080 to a 9070 XT. I’m not rewarding NVIDIA with thousands of dollars for marginal improvements, especially considering how rarely I play games that really push my graphics card anyway.

The crypto economy really did a number on the market

Nvidia needs a PlayStation humble moment that lasts a couple years and hopefully they change their tune.

  17. With them being a monopoly i can only hope in future presidential administrations (lord knows trumps not doing shit fs) that it can be broken up one day. Probably wont considering all the other monopolies in other markets, but thats the dream.

  18. Kirzoneli

Its why AMD has a chance to make a comeback though im sure they will fuck it up.

Course your current GPU is probably going to last ~7 years if you get a current medium tier.

  19. LucyfurOfBabylon

Tech bros using this equipment for their ai slop and crypto trash projects is what has helped enable this, and is what will keep enabling this farther.

When the profits on GPUs for gaming cover just their taxes paid to the US while data centers are doing about 35x, you know it’s over
