The car seats are designed very similar to certain high performance car seats which are usually alcantara. Baby chairs and car seats in performance cars face almost identical issues which is the forces of the vehicle can stress or outmatch your neck or stabilizing muscles. So it is no coincidence they are similar.
The gamer chair was made mostly just to pretend gamers are doing professional sports and a very healthy marketing campaign made then popular among a fairly narrow group of people.
Personally I love them in my car and have driven for 14 hours at a stretch in it on a few occasions and walked away without back pain. I hate it as a computer chair though because I sit in a whole lot of different positions on my computer that I just don’t do while driving.

I’m 6’6” and my hight is mostly in my torso, I wish I could find a good gaming chair but they are all made for people way smaller than me.

Yeah, no shit. Gaming chairs are based off of rally car seats which are essentially baby chairs for adults who like to drive very fast while someone shouts directions at them.
On this note, gaming chairs, much like rally car seats are not designed for comfort, they’re designed for ergonomics. They’re supposed keep you upright and stop you from slouching while maintaining proper posture yet literally every person who I’ve ever seen sit in a gaming chair slouches across it like it’s a chaise lounge.

Gamer Chairs are bullshit. Originally conceived to sell off extra bucket seats, they’re bad for your back, your shoulders, and your neck. Take it from a 46 year old gamer, you’ll regret neglecting those parts later on when they get old and creaky.
Get an ergonomic office chair. A bucket seat is designed to hold you in place during motion. So unless you’re pulling actual Gs, you don’t need that. What you need is fucking lumbar support.
