The vistas in Deus Ex Mankind Divided are still amazing nine years later. This does not look like a decade old game

  1. It… Kinda does look like a decade old game. You just need to remember that today is not 2019, but 2025. Which, I admit, is hard sometimes.

Yes it does. Games looked amazing already a decade ago. People need to quit with this shit.

  3. Diminishing returns on graphics as they get closer and closer to photorealistic.

But yes Eidos Montreal did really great work on this game. Shame deus ex has been confined to development purgatory.

I mean, it kinda does look like a decade old game.

The art style is great yeah but all you’re looking at here graphically is an anamorphic lens flare emulation and some pretty standard crepuscular rays. The texture quality and basic post process AA definitely give it away.

OP this is a sign that you are getting older as your eyesight is declining

it looks like a decade old game, however the technological leap from 1990 to 2000 is much bigger than the one from 2015 to 2025

Should see this game running at 4K on a modern PC. Magnificent. The art direction is timeless.

Its so yellow it looks like someone deep fried it.

I mean, the glare and god rays blowing out the colour of the screen and being unable to see half of the shit on there probably helps with the “good” look of the game

Great game, though unfinished and sadly we won’t get a sequel

  11. sup3rdr01d

    It’s a static background lol

Compare this to night city and it’s not even remotely the same

This game absolutely looks a decade old. That doesn’t make it bad. Just old.

Sad we’ll never see the series finished. I loved Deus Ex HR and MD

It’s definitely a massively underrated game I’ll give you that. Could be a gen z person and give it a go and you’ll probably love it

It does look that old, look at the textures and borders… But I do agree the lightning looks good.

  15. It does though. That’s like 2015-2016 graphics. We absolutely had marvelous looking games back then.

The team did have great art direction

  16. The environment looks great. The models look rough.

  17. Both of the “modern” Deus Ex games are outstanding overall and still set the bar for a very small genre.

  18. Real_ilinnuc

Oof it looks older than that tbh. The lighting engine is overblown to draw attention away from the textures. Very typical for that era especially.

Such a dumb take, prerendered background and baked lightning.

I played i recently, while being a cool game, it does look dated. Especially the character models, shaders and there is ton of aliasing, even at 4K.

This game deserved more time for the third act and a sequel. Goddamn square for having unrealistic expectations.

This game was a disappointment in terms of story, for me. I felt Human Revolution was much more engaging and fun to play. I should give this game a try again

I loved this game when I played it. That neon bridge in Prague during the night time really made my brain happy. It made me want to step into the world and just go for a walk. Same thing with hitman WOA, that game has some amazing background scenery like Miami and Paris or Sapienza and I just want to jump through the screen.

I don’t know what it is, but background scenery in urban environments; especially somewhere like Europe full of old buildings looks significantly better than something like watch dogs legion where the city of London looks like absolute ass and I get nothing from the experience.
