I thought the yellow stuff leaked out from your thing.

It looks like a very obvious (to me at least) fake of a Samsung SSD.
Before diving further, I would not trust this drive with any of my data due to it being a fake, it probably has the cheapest controllers / storage chips out there. Mourning your data is guaranteed with this product.

Also it’s either an M.2 SATA SSD or an NVMe with less lanes. (Thanks to u/dddvvvzzz for pointing that out)

You can see the difference in keying here: [https://www.atpinc.com/upload/images/2020/04-22/793d32bfe7674ebc995893a8af3661f8.jpg](https://www.atpinc.com/upload/images/2020/04-22/793d32bfe7674ebc995893a8af3661f8.jpg) (Original article: [M.2 Interface, Key and Socket explained](https://www.atpinc.com/blog/what-is-m.2-M-B-BM-key-socket-3))

Return if possible, though it should still fit in an M.2 NVMe slot, it isn’t what your dad paid for.

  3. its a sata m.2 drive, you were scammed, if you got it from ebay or amazon you can return it

  4. Pls do not insert even if it fits, that looks like a scam and could possibly even contain a virus or worse… If possible return it

  5. A rebadged SATA m.2 SSD.

In other words you were scammed, return it and get a refund if possible.

  6. Yeah, scams like this are very common. Like how many non-brand SSDs are just an SD card glued inside instead of actual NAND memory chips 🙂

I don’t know how much you paid for that “2TB NVME”, but usually if the deal is too good to be true… you know the rest.

    >990 Pro NVMe SSD

    >Looks at the connector

    >SATA SSD

A Xitty Xinny Xamxung, Looks like combustible M.SATA SSD that used to exist like 10 years ago.

  11. I have a 4tb one also from delahie, i got it for free and it actually was a 4tb WD green so im not complaining but yeah if its sata i wouldnt keep it

It’s a m.2 ssd drive using the lettering and coloring scheme used by samsung drives. It’s clearly labeled as a m2. ssd and I wouldn’t trust it with my data. If you bought this somewhere with any sort of buyer protection, I would return it and get back my money.

Lmao bro you just got a cheap sata m.2 instead of the real nvme 😂

Scam SSD it’s trying to mimic the Samsung SSD naming scheme plus it’s not even NvMe it’s SATA you can tell by the 2 notches at the connector.
