2650 euros for a 4080 with an I9, wait, it HAS an air cooler.
Everyone here should know that this goes extremely hot and need an AIO.
God forbid the creator of that abomination.

  1. I don’t know who to feel worse for: For whoever is dumb enough to but this pre-built at that price, or for that CPU that is probably agonizing and suffering from so much heat

You could maybe get away with a good dual tower air cooler. A tiny cooler like that has to be some kind of crime, though considering the price.

  3. air cooler? – gonna be pretty hot right
intel STOCK COOLER? – oh fuck no

I know many her might disagree, but I would prefer an Apple M2 Pro or Ultra any time over these Power-Hungry and hot-running machines 🤷‍♂️ sure they are not or only difficult to upgrade but in terms of running cool end saving energy they are pretty much the best money can buy these days 🤷‍♂️

I am guessing whoever installed it wanted that “Intel” visible on the CPU. If this is not a place for enthusiasts this might help sales.

Honestly high-end air coolers are still plenty capable even for high-TDP CPUs. And they can actually perform better than some AIOs (especially single-fan ones).

Of course the Intel stock cooler is… not a high-end air cooler lol

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 cooled mine just fine

  8. Jesper1988

And some random dude will buy this because it says i9 and dont know its just a expensive hotbox only good in the winter lol

Does that stock cooler actually have LEDs in it?

my pc has a big double tower hanging off the mobo for the cpu and barely gets warm with a ryzen 9 7900x.

that little cooler has some flare but I doubt it’s sufficient for a i9 under load.

That “cooler” is not enough to cool it IDLE.

It ia either they are mad or it is temporary until they put AIO (replacement or not arrived yet).

After all of that, this case has an awful airflow already.

    So, still crazy.

i9, shitty stock cooler AND poor frontal airflow? Chernobyl 2.0 I’d say.

  13. NavAirComputerSlave

Nothing wrong with a air cooler, but that thing is dinky

  14. Stang70Fastback

Literally nothing wrong with an air cooler… just gotta have the right one. That is not the right one.

  15. dukenukemx

Nothing wrong with air coolers but for €2650 I would expect more.

  16. OutThelcy

Not just an air cooler it’s the mf stock cooler 😭😭😭

  17. TIGER_SUS

Well i mean if a pc is a good deal in terms of apecs bit has bad cooling, you get it and upgrade cooling

  18. Even a mediocre Intel air cooler is fine as long as you’re not overclocking.
It’s amazing how marketing has programmed everyone to think you need a liquid cooler.

  19. I’m surprised that thing can turn on for longer than 10 seconds.

First I was like: Typical PCMR Intel bashing

Then you showed the inside and boom: i9 with stock cooler??? I started questioning myself, no i9 comes with stock cooler, all of them come without one and need an AIO. Decided to search more and..

TIL Intel made an i9 14900 that has a TDP of 65W and comes with a stock cooler. Has same number of cores and threads (or whatever they are called).

    * E core base clock is 1.5GHz (K version is at 2GHz. max clock is 4.3GHz, just .1 lower than K)
    * P core base clock is 2 GHz (K version is 3.2GHz, and max its 5.4GHz while the K is 5.6GHz)
    * Max power is at 219W while the K is at 253W

Basically on the P cores, its 200Hz lower than all 3 boosts things (don’t understand them) versus the K version. I only knew about normal i7s, not i9s…

I had an i7-7700k and never knew how hot it got because the program stopped measuring after 100C

  22. PlzDntBanMeAgan

So someone had to source that cooler on top of that because i9s don’t even come with a stock cooler…

  23. Jonny_vdv

I thought i5s were the highest tier of CPU that Intel shipped with a stock cooler

  24. AnAnGrYSupportV2

As someone who has very little knowledge on building computers. Is Air cooling usually not the way to go then?
