Silent hill 2 had some GREAT TV bits. The woman you keep meeting, I forget her name, there was like loads of mini interviews of her in a jail cell or something, all less than 30 seconds.

1999 was the greatest single year for media releases ever. I think people were genuinely worried about the world ending and there was an explosion to finish their work before a new millennium.

1999 was great, but Silent Hill wasn’t really part of the conversation. It was the year of System Shock 2, though *really* everyone was still playing Half-Life – and the betas of Counter Strike. They were the biggest thing happening on the Internet at the tine. It was all over the sites that mattered at the time – Shack, Blue, the rest.
Consoles weren’t like they are today. They weren’t really equal participants, in that they *didn’t get* the titles that were widely considered to be the best stuff that came out in a given year – NOLF, Half-Life, Deus Ex, etc – either at all or anywhere close to release.

Scared the absolute bejeezus out of me. I used to invite my mates over to play it with me so I didn’t have to play it alone. The controller got passed about fair bit in the intense bit lol
