Anyone remember that crazy computer shop dude (I think) who was convinced VLC was a virus and would format entire drives to get rid of it? I can’t remember where I saw this years ago but it was wild.

That traffic cone has been with me actual decades now, among the first installs on any new OS. Only recently has my Jellyfin server replaced it by and large for my video needs, but ol’faithful is still there ready to go.
Thank you VLC team, you are the real ones.

Man, the days before VLC were you had to download some dodgy codec pack ware not great.

I love it, but it’s kinda buggy. Sometimes it freezes when you pause and resume with certain codecs. That’s why I switched to mpv.
