The problem is that the fandom thinks their subjective opinions are objective facts. If they encounter an opinion they don’t like then they try to find ways to invalidate the opinion. When called out for this behavior they try to use “whataboutism” or the “I can handle criticism just not bad criticism” excuse. The “bad criticism” is just criticism they don’t like.
