I'm gaming on a GMKtec k8 Plus, and while it's not meant to be a beast it does pretty well…when the fan works. (Unit has a single fan at the top)
It seems like the PC is having trouble recognizing when I'm in game? When I first startup Helldiver's 2 I'll be at 60+ fps, then after maybe a minute it'll suddenly drop me to 20 fps. According to AMD Adrenalin temps are high. It'll sit like that for maybe 20 minutes when finally the fan will ramp up and I'm back to 60+ fps. Then it drops again after some time. (Adrenalin FPS counter is inaccurate, my numbers are based on Steam)
I've already set Windows to performance mode, as well as in Adrenalin, in BIOS as well and changed the Fan mode there from Auto to On.
Any suggestions on more fine tuning or any software that'll help? I don't care about noise, at it's loudest it's still nothing compared to my old Razer Blade.

Hello Sick_Nasty_Bro, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Just googled the specs of the PC, I want to preface, helldivers is not an optimized game. I’m unsure of the mobo in the PC and AMD software, but for me I have armoury crate for my asus motherboard. And I can set the fan curve, I’d recommend trying to find the fan curve and just set it high and or always on so the CPU stays cool. The other thing you can do is look into lossless scaling on steam. I use it playing helldivers, I get roughly around 100-120 fps but my monitor is 165, with lossless scaling I can set my frame rate to 55 and use x3 and get 165 fps in game, there is very little delay but it works for buttery smooth gameplay. For you let’s say you want steady 60fps and you can get a stable 30 fps, you could just set it to x2 and cap your frame rate to 30 fps to get 60 fps.
