Analyst desks are a huge part of Counter Strike, and a lot of the personalities there have become almost as iconic as the players themselves. However, the quality of these segments severely drops from tournament to tournament, as different TOs generally hire different talent and have different formats for the desk.

What are some things you guys dislike about modern analyst desks, and what are some things you like? What talents do you want to or don't want to see appearing more? What are some different formats you personally like?

For me, I miss spicier personalities that would actually be entertaining rather than just give us cold analysis. A lot of desks are far too boring to be worth watching in between games. Duos like Thorin and Richard Lewis were incredibly fun to watch. I also really hope to see Dupreeh more often. He is very entertaining, and has a much higher pedigree than anyone we see in these desks. I liked the way they brought in content creators like voo, however, I thought he was pretty bland.

we need to have some real fucking personalities on the desk. i dont want pimp for the 90th event in a row saying the same thing over and over

give me thorin who can build a great narrative

give me mauisnake who can give a spicy angle on a game

    give me kassad

  2. Current analysts do a fantastic job of breaking down what happened in the games prior. If you want spicy takes, wait for post podcast stuff from content creators since they don’t have to worry about getting canceled.

Get rid of Richard Lewis cuz “paid shill” has the credibility of political news analyst.

I really wish the analyst desk was less of a stopgap and more of an advanced statistics segment with commentary. It would be cool to see a PFF approach or something like ESPN at halftime. Would love to see TTK statistics at half or post match, utility statistics, team/player head to head stats, etc, etc. The game is ripe for advanced statistics.

Despite being an analyst desk, aside from a small amount of analysts its full of canned responses and hot takes – the canned responders are better for player interviews, and the hot take people are more suited to Youtube.

After seeing the Elisa Masters analyst desk, I realized how much greater they can be with Thorin on them.

As much as this subreddit does not like him. Richard Lewis and thoorin would be great on the analysts desk.

I really don’t like how this subreddit (and this is a Reddit thing. It also applies to LoL) will hate on players/personalities because they have a “spicy”/controversial personality.

But then in the same token complain how the scene is so “bland” and we need people that don’t spout the same PR robotic responses.

I’m old but I don’t want spicy personalities or “takes”, I want well communicated insights. I love when current or recent pros like Dupreeh get thw chance, or nerdier types like Voo and Dust’s segment.

    Seriously? Bring back Thorin.

Modern analysts like pimp are extremely boring to listen to, we need spice and jokes on the desk

Just go and watch the Elisa masters analyst desk, there’s a highlight reel somewhere. You don’t get highlight reels for modern desks because they’re boring as shit

  10. More technical stuff like stats and strats, because they really help people learn to look for specific things while watching and better understand what the teams are trying to do.

  11. Currently the analyst talent desks are fine. Personality seems to be a problem. Everyone seems to agree and walk on a tight rope to not piss anyone off on reddit or hltv.

Would like to see CaDiaN back on blast but it seems like Dupreeh is filling that spot. Or Thorin would have to sellout to return more frequently.

I would like some more statistics, like headshot percentage, starts they do, etc

  13. Too much firepower.  Each deserves their own show.

  14. I just want to say that Pimp is the best analyst currently. Idk why people hate on him. Thank god TOs don’t listen to reddit

Make it like “inside the NBA” remove everyone and get the legit ex pros. Dupreeh, cadian, NBK etc.

Add the mahone zone as well.

We don’t need a hot take from guys who don’t even know what they’re talking about.

More coaches and real analysts, less bs. Talk more about tactics, statistics and crucial mistakes that decided who won the match with less glazing/hating on players. I want to hear something that I haven’t noticed myself during a match.
