This is stone cold proof that Final Fantasy XVII should be a co-operative climbing simulator.

I don’t have a ton of friends but nearly all of them are playing this. Random friends, at least three different groups who don’t know each other.

Neat game for less than a Big Mac meal

Well, whoever made this is set for a long time kinda like those who made Among Us.

This selling so well is one thing I don’t like about indies. I played this for about 10 hours and it was ok we had some decent fun. Took the devs I think about a month to make?
Whereas a lot of absolutely amazing indies which are the product of years of pure passion get like 10k-100k sales. They get stellar reviews and people love it but it never really sells.
I feel like no matter how good an indie is often (not always) does not matter. It either catches this hype to hell ride or it sits in obscurity.
People don’t look for games and seem entirely dictated by what’s popular which I think is the bane of indie development.
Take for example Hypnospace Outlaw, amazing indie, amazing reviews, years of hard work and the follow up game had to be cancelled due to lack of funds.
Yet Peak which is an ok indie made in a month sells 5m and people are like indies are booming because of this but in reality they’re not. There are great indies coming out and making no sales because people just tend to flock around the popular YouTube bait type games.
Edit: Not saying this game is bad I just wish people would branch out more when it came to indies so they could really thrive. Rather than be dependent on just catching the popularity train.

I knew it was selling well but 5mil is crazy

Really impressive, it was only on Steam right? The highest selling indie game this year.

I really have no interest in this game, but I am so happy for them.
What a win, what a way to drive their studio forward.
Love from a stranger, see you for your next game 🙂

We’re going to be seeing a lot more “friendslop” type of games coming out. Games that are easy to put out and perfect for streamers. Lethal Company and REPO are two other big ones. Especially with proximity chat

I don’t mean any shade by this at all, I’m just legitimately curious, is this game actually good or is it just one of those small games that get super popular for a month due to a bunch of streamers playing it? If it’s a legitimately a good game I don’t mind giving it a shot but I’ve also seen a plenty of “fad streamer” games come and go over the years 🤷🏻♂️
