I don’t think it was ever perfect, but OG verdansk back in 2020 had pretty good audio for tracking footsteps. I didn’t notice that it was as bad until Warzone 2.0

I don’t think it was ever perfect, but I guess that’s why they are planning on adding an audio visualizer soon. Such a shame it took them five years to think of it.

During MWII open beta, the foot steps audio was amazing. I don’t remember anytime was better than that.

Unpopular opinion but I think the audio is fine now. I don’t have any special settings and I can hear footsteps and people can certainly hear me. I know people including myself get snuck up on all the time and you wanna be like “no audio, bro!” but if we’re being honest with ourselves, a lot of those times there’s a ton of stuff going on at once, and we just didn’t recognize the 1 second of footsteps in the mix, which is frankly how the game should play.
